Ma Maison Grand Reveal!

The Hill Country is taking off, and isn’t looking back! As I was driving down Bell Springs Road, I felt as if I were in some beautiful destination location looking for wedding venues. Yes, I said it, The Hill Country is becoming the new “local” destination wedding location!

Last Sunday was the day for Hill Country open houses/grand reveals!! My first stop- Ma Maison!

Ma Maison is an absolutely breath-taking 10,000 square-foot event site, sitting on 23 beautiful acres! Throughout the many different ceremony sites, I could not stop dreaming about The Green Cathedral- STUNNING!! Ma Maison is a romantic French inspired venue that you are guaranteed to fall in love with!

Lets not forget all the fabulous vendors that were apart of this magnificent day!!

Celebrity Wedding Recap!

I know we haven’t blogged in awhile, and during our time away we’ve missed out on a lot of unforgettable weddings! If you’re at all like me, then you’re a sucker for celebrity weddings! Just to name a few…

The beautiful and talented Kelly Clarkson married her adorable fiance, Brandon Blackstock on October 20th, at Blackberry Farms in Walland, Tennessee. The wedding was absolutely beautiful, as well as Clarkson! She wore a stunning lace Temperley London dress with a Maria Elena headpiece! Photography was done by Archetype Studio Inc. and what talented photographers they are.

Of course we can’t end this post without discussing The Bachelor Wedding! Sean and Catherine said their ‘I Do’s’ on January 26th, 2014 at The Four Seasons Resort in Santa Barbara, and lets just all agree that it was absolutely breath taking! Celebrity wedding planner, Mindy Weiss did a fantastic job! We wouldn’t have expected anything less!

Mint Color Inspiration

Who’s ready for a Mojito? Maybe a Mint Julep? What about using the color mint as an accent or choice for your upcoming event? And just think, you can add in a signature drink to tie in.

Mint is a great color to mix with other bold, bright, or subtle colors to create a great late spring/summer look. Of course dessert comes to mind and who doesn’t love the combination of chocolate and mint? How about with some summer fruit, or as a garnish to a grooms cake?

Military Weddings

Are you the bride or groom of a military personnel? Has the question come up about proper dress at the wedding? Military attire at a wedding is something that becomes a personal and family matter.

On base you should look to the Military Chaplain and Base Protocol Officer for advice and to get the proper protocol based on the branch being represented. This is also where a Certified Wedding Planner can also help out as they are trained on the different needs that come along with Military Weddings. There are different uniforms (based on time, location), proper seating, invitation work, and traditions to follow.

Do still remember that bride and groom can decide how they would like the evening to feel. Some couples opt for the two them to be in civilian clothes and attendants or guest can choose uniform. Other couples prefer the uniform at the wedding and require it of their guest.

With options endless, and a variety of looks and feels to the wedding capable with this unique design element, how are you going to move forward with planning your Military wedding?

Everyone loves Dessert! I know we do around here. Weddings and Events are no exception to the dessert love. There are many options for displaying and presenting and one of our favorites is having the desert become the centerpiece. If you are having a family style meal, then it blends right in with the rest of the meal.

Having trouble thinking of something other than wedding cake? Do you have so many different desserts that you love? Why not share all those favorites with your guest. The different options could also signify different moments in your lives coming to the day of your event. Remember what you had on a first date?
