GoBo Lighting

Lighting is a must at any event.  To capture those details you work so hard to pull together, lighting is the final touch.  Lighting is needed to change the ambiance of a space, highlight centerpieces, or create an element of surprise.  And that is where a GoBo can come into your design.

Your GoBo design can be pulled from the entire process of planning.  From your initial announcement with a ‘Save-the-Date’, The official Invitation, and all of your stationery comes a similar theme, so why not add in a custom GoBo that greets guest and creates an amazing personal touch.

GoBo’s can be something to greet your guest above a sign in table,

a backdrop in the room (wall, ceiling, or both!),

or set the dance floor up for you and your friends to dance the night away…

GoBo’s can be Black & White, Grey-scale, or Color.  Ask your professional lighting company or DJ if they have a gobo projector and the equipment to bring out.  And make sure to get the proper sizing from their equipment to custom your gobo. There are common sizes to gobo’s, as well your lighting or DJ may have the information needed to get that custom GoBo for your big day.  Happy Lighting!

Citrus Orange Color Inspiration

Citrus Orange, what a crisp color to incorporate into your next event (and your Monday)!  You can mix it with  lemon yellow, peony pink, lime green, electric blue, or berry red.  For a warmer palette, you can accent it with autumn brown, sunset gold, slate blue, or scarlet red.  Some brides are concerned with dabbling in the orange pool, but if Kate Spade designed a purse that color, you are good to go!  Check out some of our favorite hues of the Citrus spectrum!

White Color Inspiration

White is a color, the perception of which is evoked by light that stimulates all three types of color sensitive cone cells in the human eye in nearly equal amounts and with high brightness compared to the surroundings. A white visual stimulation will be void of hue and grayness.  This, according to Wikipedia is white.  So what does that all mean for design and inspiration?

It can be the purest color in the room, or the backdrop for anything your heart desires.  We can’t think of a color it doesn’t go with.  And pairing multiple colors with white…super easy.  White allows those colors to be vibrant and as pure as the white.

And of course white on white will work just as well.  Everyone remembers Princess Kate and her sister, both in white.  And yet, Pippa never took away from the beauty of her sisters dress.

I’ll let you all peruse some pictures we all thought would get your Monday (and week) off to a good start.  I know this white will get us thinking as we head off to a design meeting today.  Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Animals out of Flowers

Animals out of flowers!

Preston Bailey is sitting next to a dog in his car or President and Mrs. Obama had Bo replicated with flowers.  These are truly spectacular show pieces that can be incorporated at an event.  Who does not like peacocks, dogs, or elephants?  They can bring back a childhood memory, or make the little one at your wedding super excited!

Thanks to Abby Daigle with Stems Floral, she created a peacock for Andree and Philip’s wedding.  It was a fantastic greeting to guests as they descended down the stairs to sign the guest book. Hank (as we named him) was touched by everyone (and he did not complain at all!)  One thing I could not watch was how Hank was assembled.  Seeing him come in pieces was weird to me.  So although you might LOVE your pet, you might not want to have him present physically so consider having him replicated out of flowers.

Peacock Theme Color Inspiration

Who would have thought that a color palette consisting of Peacock feather colors would be so striking!  And why wouldn’t you consider some of the colors.  We just love those jewel tones and bright true colors that come from the inspiration.

Want to take the idea a step further…why not have live peacocks at your event and make a truly memorable statement!  Better yet, head over to Green Pastures or Red Corral Ranch and they come with the venue.  Both of these Austin venues are great locations for your next event.

Check out some of our favorite inspiration shots that the team all fell in love with.  Hope you’re all having a splendid Monday 🙂
